MUSIC VIDEO: Smitty - E.Q.
In retrospect, I wonder how different Smitty’s career would be now if he didn’t come out with that “Diamonds On My Neck” single first. The dude is lyrical and Hip Hop as sh*t unlike that song would make you think. I’m still jamming his “Popular Demand” restyle, dude murked that ish!. Furthermore, even the fact that he’s a ghostwriter for some of the top names in the business proves that he has to have some type of sickness with the pen. I like Smitty’s music a lot and I always ponder on that thought of “What If”. The thing is I think that Smitty can kill the game even moreso now than back then being that game is kind of going back to lyricism with style which Smitty definitely has both. But this is just my opinion as always. Even though the “Diamonds” song did good and generated a buzz for Smitty I still definitely think that he was marketed wrong with that flashy song and video by Hype Williams for his first major single. Dude was better that ish because he’s a true MC…
